ORACLE Database Migration
PANTHEON 5.5 enables you the use of the up-to-date Oracle 10g data server in order to achieve better performance of your ERP system as well as higher security and availability of data.
For users of the PANTHEON 5.5 ERP system that have been previously using the MS SQL data server, we at DataLab have already prepared a tool for data transfer from the existing MS SQL to the Oracle 10g data server. You can obtain the original executable file MgrSQL2ORA.exe of the tool at: ftp.datalab.si/Programi.
In the same way as above you first specify links to databases: the MS SQL server source database and the ORACLE server target database.

Then you can create user administrator and set the name of the database on the ORACLE server.

The third step is data and object migration. It is recommended that you perform complete migration of all objects. When you perform this an .INI file shall be created in order to start the correct PANTHEON version. You can define in the bottom right window where you would like it to appear.

Once object and data migration has been completed, you may start PANTHEON on the ORACLE data server and verify if the migration has been performed properly.

Performance and Speed
By using the Oracle 10g data server, PANTHEON 5.5 you are using will have good performance also in cases of fast growing operations. Oracle 10g includes the support for server clusters. By this you are enabled to add server performance in an easy way regarding the increased workload of the system that can occur either due to the growth in the number of users or due to the implementation of any additional functionalities.
Availability and Security
Oracle 10g presents a significant jump in availability and security of data. This is due to the fact that it enables users to make backup copies of data and at the same time create remote data security centre. In this way it ensures fast data recovery in case of power failure, natural catastrophe or due to any other security reasons.
